FAQ — French pension in Israel
- Is a French pension taxable during the first 10 years?
- Generally no. The oleh exemption covers foreign-source income, including the pension, for 10 years. This simulator covers the period after that.
- When does the 35% exemption apply?
- From the statutory retirement age: 67 for a man, and the National Insurance age for a woman (65 for births from 1970). Before that age the pension is fully taxable.
- Which credit points are included?
- Basic points only: 2.25 for a resident, plus half a point for a woman. Family situation can add more.
- Is French CSG still due?
- Once the pension is taxed in Israel, CSG/CRDS is generally no longer due, subject to the steps taken with the French funds. This simulator does not compute those levies.
